Recycling plant design

We size and design recycling and waste recovery plants: process sizing, line layout, building, services and waste management authorisations.

Engineering that makes recycling profitable

A recycling plant works if the process is properly sized for the actual waste it will receive, if there is a market for its output and if the facility is authorised and safe. A mistake in any of these three areas is paid for throughout the plant's entire life.

We carry out the sizing and design of recycling plants for end-of-life tyres, agricultural plastics, plant residues and other industrial waste, from the capacity study to commissioning.

What the project includes

  1. Process sizing

Waste characterisation, capacity, mass balance and yield of each fraction.
  2. Line and machinery

Shredding, granulation, separation, sorting and product storage.
  3. Building and services

Layout, civil works, electrical systems, dust extraction and fire protection.
  4. Authorisations

Environmental procedures, operating licence and waste manager authorisation.

Frequently asked questions

What authorisations does a recycling plant need?

In Spain, in addition to the municipal operating licence, a plant that treats waste needs a waste manager authorisation from the regional government and, depending on its capacity and type, may require an environmental impact assessment or environmental permit. We identify these in the initial study.

Where does a recycling plant project start?

With the waste and the market: how much material is available, at what quality, and who will buy each fraction produced. With that data we size the line and calculate the investment.

Considering a recycling plant?

We calculate the capacity, investment and permitting your project needs.
